Competition Partner Young Chang Lee of Yoon & Yang LLC was recognized as one of “40 Under 40” by the Global Competition Review (GCR), a leading global publication in the field of competition law. GCR identifies and celebrates the most promising next-generation competition lawyers under the age of 40. He is the first Korean lawyer to achieve this prestigious distinction.

“GCR 40 under 40”, which began in 1998 as “GCR 45 under 45”, is one of the most competitive recognitions, selecting only 40 rising stars under the age of 40 from around the globe every four years. 

For this year’s selection, GCR received nominations from law firms, consulting firms, corporations, academic institutions, and competition authorities worldwide. The final 40 honorees were chosen through a rigorous evaluation process that considered their notable accomplishments, future plans, and aspirations.

Young Chang Lee has been actively involved in the competition/antitrust areas since joining the firm in 2017. His practice focuses on handling investigations and litigation related to the Korea Fair Trade Commission (KFTC), providing compliance advice, and representing clients in various competition matters, including cartel investigations, merger control, abuse of dominance, unfair trade practices, subcontracting, and franchise laws. 

GCR, established in 1997, is a competition law journal recognized as the most authoritative among competition authorities worldwide. Each year, it announces rankings of significant cases, leading competition authorities, law firms, and lawyers in the competition law field.
