Jong Il Kim is a senior expert advisor at Yoon & Yang LLC, and his main practice areas are advisory to platform and Internet businesses (i.e., portal, game, and e-commerce) and intellectual property.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Kim worked for a number of private companies, such as NAVER (head of the Legal Audit Office, Policy Office, and Legal Cooperation Office), NHN (general manager of international cooperation/director), and Coupang (head of the Service Policy Office/executive director of policies). For several years, he has served as the steering commissioner of the Korea Association of Game Industry and as a member of the Korea Online Shopping Association and K-Internet, thereby enabling him to act as a liaison between the private and public sector related to the platform and Internet business. Recently, he is serving as an expert member of the sub-committee on protection of the Presidential Council on Intellectual Property, where by presents in-depth and valuable opinions on policies related to NFT, metaverse, and overseas intellectual property infringement.
