Biography
Jiwook Kim is a partner at Yoon & Yang LLC, specializing in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), corporate law, foreign investment, and outbound investments.
He provides comprehensive legal services in a wide range of M&A and corporate restructuring transactions, as well as cross border matters including inbound and outbound investments. His practice also encompasses advising Korean clients on overseas joint ventures, establishment of foreign subsidiaries and production facilities overseas (greenfield investments), and the development of internal compliance systems for employees dispatched to overseas entities.
Prior to joining the firm, he served as in-house counsel at NAVER Corporation, where he gained valuable insights into corporate structures, organizational needs, and business-driven legal strategies. He also possesses strong expertise in IT and data privacy matters, having previously served as a legal advisor to the Korea Communications Commission (KCC) and the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) on data protection and privacy regulations.
