Biography
Hee Woong Yoon is a managing partner at Yoon & Yang LLC, and his main practice areas include corporate advisory and financial & capital markets matters.
After completing the course at the Judicial Research and Training Institute of the Supreme Court of Korea, Mr. Yoon began his legal career at Yoon & Partners (now Yoon & Yang LLC). For roughly 30 years, he has practiced in the field of capital markets and corporate advisory, establishing himself as one of Korea’s leading experts in overall corporate advisory matters, including M&A.
Mr. Yoon has played a leading role in shaping the direction of Korea’s M&A market by handling large-scale deals involving numerous domestic and foreign companies, as well as global financial institutions. Notable transactions include Lotte Shopping’s acquisition of Hi Mart, Hyundai Motor Company’s acquisition of Shinheung Securities (now HMC Securities), Hanwha Group’s acquisition of Samsung General Chemicals and Samsung Total, and Standard Chartered’s acquisition of Korea First Bank.
He was also named one of the “Asia 100 Hot Lawyers” by Asian Legal Business, “Capital Markets Lawyer of the Year” by IFLR (International Financial Law Review), and has been selected multiple times as a “Leading Lawyer” by IFLR1000. He continues to be recognized for his outstanding expertise and influence in the field of capital markets.
